Nakia Pollard, 50, was sentenced to 19 years in prison on Friday, March 7, after pleading guilty to multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine, according to the Cecil County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Pollard’s troubles began in June 2022, when investigators with the Cecil County Drug Task Force raided a hotel room where he was staying. Inside, they found fentanyl, cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia.

Then, nearly two years later, history repeated itself.

On May 23, 2024, Cecil County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Pollard’s home as part of a separate investigation.

They found the same thing—more fentanyl, more cocaine, more cash, and more paraphernalia.

Pollard pleaded guilty to the charges on Dec. 16, 2024, and was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Brenda A. Sexton to a total of 19 years in prison:

  • Seven years for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (first case);
  • Five years for possession with intent to distribute cocaine;
  • Seven years for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (second case).

“The distribution of narcotics poses a great threat to the citizens of Cecil County,” State’s Attorney James A. Dellmyer said.

“Recovering such dangerous substances and prosecuting individuals responsible for distributing them aids in the effort to keep said drugs out of the reach of Cecil County citizens."

Pollard will now serve his time in the Maryland Division of Corrections.
